Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Soundtrack

Composers: Guy Dubuc and Marc Lessard (ingame), Lalo Schifrin (credits), Jack Wall (cutscenes [not included]).

After many years, finally release of high quality Pandora Tomorrow soundtrack from PS2 and PS3 version.
Source quality is 36kHz. Probably variant of IMA ADPCM. It sounds really decent, and far more better than
commonly known rip - probably line-in 22kHz from Xbox or PC version, so muffled and low quality.

Now we have the music unpacked straight from the game files using Watto Game Extractor for IMG files, and DecUbiSndGui-0.81 for decoding .SS1 files (few second segments inside), and Audacity raw import data option for .SS6 files (PS3).

It is a mix of PS2 and PS3 files, in a way to provide you the best quality. I wasn't able to decode all PS3 music files. And PS3 has very agressibely filtered any noise in tracks, in a way that deteriorates overall quality (poor mastering). But there were few songs and fragments used in this release from PS3 too. I wasn't able to decode all PS3 music files, eg. "Standard" tracks, and random, badly decoded fragments. And it had been taken an attempt to remaster Main Menu track. In all versions it was in very low quality. Credits is just losslessly downloaded and converted, selected clip from YT. I couldn't find audio streams for movies this time in game files, though I did it before once.
It was a lot of puzzles to put, many segments to sort out, diffrent fragments to match, I hope you enjoy guys.

Changelog:

Extras:

- Same Main Menu remastered, but with ReplayGain (it's quieter, but it has better high tones) [listen in Foobar2000 for using ReplayGain]
- Main Menu - old beta versions based on old DSPs (FFDShow and Creative Crystalizer) - e.g. if you suffered from too much bass in version above, or miss old main menu pitch in older known rip.
- 06_Criogenics Suspicion - 36KHz instead of 32 - I started to like this version more. Previously I just downsampled it for some reason.
- Separate original segments of Jerusalem - Discovered - it's in a bit better quality (play all segments in playlist)
- Jerusalem - Discovered in ~remastered verison (but it's only 2 segments - close to final version, though)

It seems that Jungle "Suspicion" and "Fight" tracks are not in the PC version of the game. Are this tracks from PS exclusizive level?

In "Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow Soundtrack.zip" I took a look and noticed that track 20_????????? is missing. (I do not know which track that is, that' why I put these ???? questionmarks). Is that maybe included in "Pandora Tomorrow update.rar" as "jerusalem_20.wav" ?.

PS: But great work! I appreciate that very much. I can understand that's really hard to find/get/rip the original tracks as you do!

I'm 65% percent sure that I noticed that before. I just made a mistake. Unfortunately there was no additional track there.

what did u fix about the criogenics track? the WAV version cuts off. was there a reason for it?

In the 1st release I just uploaded version resampled to 32kHz, since it sounded better while using some DSP in my output chain. But after changing the whole sound system I realized that I made stupid thing when it wasn't sounding any better, so in extras I uploaded original 36kHz file.

what is the best version of the Main Menu music?

Depends on your soundsystem and overall settings how it will react with these tracks. Just listen and let my know.
Personally I very like FFdshow/Crystallizer version, but from concrete reason I made a new one (from which I maybe not entirely happy (low source quality, maybe filters), but it's better in some extend.

Did you changed anything in matter of quality or source, or you just copied everything from here, placing in MP3 in slightly different way of file arrangement?
Because it's my first impression after listening.
And 2-3 files are too quite

the quality shouldn't be downgraded at all, and each track is a suite of all the music within the level.

are you saying tracks 2 and 3 are quieter than the others? i guess i'm not hearing the difference.

E.g. Embassy Standard is quiet.

Don't tell me you didn't downgraded quality since MP3 is simply second compression of the whole material... (after game original compression).
Just maybe there is not so noticeable difference.

that's strange that it would be quieter...i didn't change the volume of it. the waveforms looked identical to the flac files.

sorry, i suppose i didn't word that correctly. the bitrate has technically gone down from the 800~500 kbps range of the source files to 320 kbps. though i can't imagine there being very much significant data loss during that conversion. i'm doubtful that the music totally necessitates having a bitrate any higher than the mp3 format can yield, but people could prove me wrong! i don't know much about these things.
