ADPCM normally has worse quality than psycho-acoustic compression methods unless the latter have a low bitrate. Look at the spectral analysis of the same tracks and you'll see what I mean.

I am looking for soundtrack from The Mercury Meltdown Game (PSP). I was looking for in Game Ost, Sound Cloud, but I couldn't find it. I have original version of Mercury Meltdown on my PC as an ISO file.
I was trying to extract sound files from this game by myself with software: Game Extractor, Extractor2.4, AllMedia Grabber, but I got files :
general.paq.wav... and I can't open and I can't convet it to wav or mp3 ...
Changing the file extension didn't help too...

Do You know another method of extracting this music ?
Or could you share The Mercury Meltdown soundtrack Again. I am looking for tracks :11 (Cut), 23, 16, 20. But "Cut" ist most important for me.

With a BMS script I found online. Not only does it extract the audio, but everything! Im having a little problem with the extracted XMA files though... Need to figure that out. It might be XMA2

EDIT: Yup. I was right. XMA2. I used xmash to extract the streams inside of the original XMA file, and now they work perfectly with towav.

EDIT 2: Oddly enough, each XMA2 file has 3 XMA files inside. 2 of them are the exact same music cue (One is just a tad softer in volume) and the 3rd is silent. I wonder why...

EDIT 3: The more DAT files I go through, the more ogg files I find. So this rip will be pretty easy... :D

Yeah your probably right about the 4.0 sound. Although there was an OGG version of one the of XMA tracks that was listed as 5.1 surround. I opened it in audacity and it was indeed 5.1, but only 4 of the channels were used. Odd...

Ok, now this is something special. I've managed to rip both the PS2 and Xbox versions of Driv3r! :) And here's the best part: I found the correct file names for the single streams inside the Xbox control files! :D
I chose to post the PC version once again to have all platforms in one post. Btw, the Xbox version has the best quality.

Ok, now this is something special. I've managed to rip both the PS2 and Xbox versions of Driv3r! :) And here's the best part: I found the correct file names for the single streams inside the Xbox control files! :D

What's the news on Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction or Everything or Nothing?
The GC version of 007: Everything or Nothing has an uncommon movie type with ogg as audio. VGMToolbox doesn't support demuxing yet and I've asked snakemeat for help. Unless I hear something from him, I can't continue. All the other music and movie files from GC, PS2 and Xbox are ripped. Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction pending.

But keep in mind that MP3 does about the same thing and calls it 44.1 kHz... It would be a different case if the source format was ADPCM (any) because there you have noise in the upper frequency regions. BTW, that's the reason that PS2 usually has worse quality than Xbox if the latter uses ogg or wma. If you were to create a soundtrack out of a PS2 game, you should run all tracks through a noise filter before processing them.

I`m requesting "Orcs Must Die 2 ~ 2012 ~ PC". By the way composer of entire game dilogy is Chris Rickwood and the 2nd iteration in the series even has a digital OST distributed via Steam so that you can add it to your collection if you wish.


Is there a software which open .dsp and .itl audio files ?
For DSPs there`s this solution which should work in most cases and if it`s not like that then it`s pretty likely that not the stream itself is somewhat invalid but the header applied to it is incorrect or even missing:

Personally I`ve never even heard about any ITLs not to mention encountered them and files of that extension don`t seem to be supported by either Winamp`s or Foobar2000`s ports of vgmstream therefore I can only guess they might be some very special and nontraditional type of discrete header implementation (just like that classic SPD + SPT solution used for audio storage on Gamecube platform).

I Have FSB Extractor but when I launch the .fsb files I hear some "strange" noises...

Well thats ok the only reason i even wanted it is because i didn't know if it had higher bitrate versions of the songs but i guess not.
And also i know how to rip PC games but not Xbox or 360 games and i'm not really sure how to learn to rip Xbox 360 games.

UPDATE
Eventually Silent Hill 2 is rippable after all: I took a look at the HD Collection for PS3 and found out that it DOESN'T use a tracker system but has individual music tracks. However, they are multichannel Atrac3 in msf containers and I'll have to ask for help. Meanwhile I'll check out the X360 version which I hope is better accessible.

Btw, I'm currently not working on AC as I have some other things to manage, e.g. a really demanding relationship. ;)
Once in a while I continue with some files but it's really tedious because DecUbisoftGUI has no batch extraction feature so I have to do it file-by-file. :/ So farI've only looked at the PS3 version, which uses a mix of Ubisoft ADPCM, at3 amd PS2 ADPCM. Of course all files are zeaderless as always with Ubisoft games so the frequency is a guessing game.

Alpha put out a request post sometime last year, I think around spring about it.


The AllDebrid doesn�t work for me. It always say when i put that link into it:
"This link isn't valid or not supported."

I also used Alldebrid as well when I made the backup of his collection last year. Though I must say when using Alldebrid, the Rapidshare host wasn't stable for me, and even the customer service over at Alldebrid was poor in my opinion. You could try and post in their forums for help, and have someone check it out the links provided the filehoster is cleared for downloading.

I was switching from Jdownloader2 to the former Rapid-downloader to Mipony to Browser to Jdownloader2. Then again this was most likely due to when Rapidshare just recently changed its entire layout and download structure. It was just mental and drove me crazy. Luckily, I think I chose the 30 days period, so I didn't see it as an entire loss, before finally going the RapidShare Premium route.

I realize this is a huge longshot and the fact alpha's requests are closed, but is there any slight possibility that the BGMs and not the vocal songs themselves from Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F are rippable? If there is, I can one day complete the soundtrack once and for all. Thanks in advance.

Nice to see the update on the original Assassin's Creed, Alpha. By the way, I saw 007 Blood Stone in the 0-9 folder and got it, and well, you got one track out. I know the game is not completely rippable like Hitman Absolution, but how much did you initially extract?Huh? I only have some downloadable tracks and the OST... The game is still unrippable - Sony ADPCM you know...

In options, go to "Input", select "Nullsoft MIDI player", under the tab "Devices" switch to "DirectMusic/Synthesizer (with output)". Now you can use the DiscWriter plugin.

Speaking of Heral, did anyone on this forum ever manage to rip The Adventures of Tintin? Heral composed for that game but sadly there was no original soundtrack. On the plus side, some of the themes are reprised from Rayman Origins...

Also Alpha, what program do you use join the segments together? There's too many segments to add into Audacity, kinda like the Simpsons Game...
I never realised that games like this separated stuff into 7-8 seconds per track...
